Séché Environnement launches its biodiversity strategy 2023-2027

Against the magnificent backdrop of the National Museum of Natural History and accompanied by its leading partners, Séché Environnement has launched a new cycle of commitments aimed at protecting biodiversity. Known as "Sustainable Action for Nature" (SAN), the strategy is being rolled out across nearly 30 industrial sites in France and abroad. The Group is also continuing to develop solutions for its customers that help protect the ecosystems beyond its own four walls.

Driven by a set of family values that prioritize long-term action and give special focus to our ecosystems and communities, the Group’s strategy draws strength from nearly 30 years‘ experience in preserving biodiversity.

Taking action at the Group’s industrial sites

Our action plan is based on three key objectives that are implemented and adapted at each local site:

  • Knowledge and action
Gain a clearer insight into the wildlife and plant-life living in and around the sites and harness that knowledge to develop targeted actions geared towards the specific features of each ecosystem.
  • Education and awareness
Show, speak, tell and explain why everyone is responsible for protecting the living environment, whether employees, residents, students or teachers.
  • Commitment at every level
Work with all stakeholders, both local and global, at every level of responsibility to mobilize the resources and sharpen the determination to take faster and stronger action. An urgent response is required.

We are focused on our ambition of leading preservation initiatives across all our sites. To achieve our aims, our Biodiversity team can harness the expertise of its six ecologists, the involvement of its employees and the passion of its 30 ambassadors, without whom nothing could be achieved on the ground. Thirty of our sites have already joined the Act4nature initiative championed by French environmental think-tank Entreprises pour l’Environnement (EpE).

The six sites with the largest land-takes have achieved Ecocert certification and implemented a biodiversity management system.

  • Suppliers, who are encouraged to engage with biodiversity
  • Customers, who can adopt solutions that strongly contribute to protecting the ecosystems
