Customer relations, technicality and transversality, Anabelle - Sales Manager

After studying chemistry, it was during an internship that she discovered her vocation for the environment and sanitation. Today, Anabelle is Sales Manager at Séché Environnement in the Global Offer department. It's a role that allows her to combine technical expertise, autonomy and customer relations, in a company on a human scale.

How did you end up in the business and environmental professions?

I studied chemistry, without necessarily intending to work in the environment. It was somewhat by chance, thanks to an internship, that I turned to this sector. I discovered the sanitation professions, and then moved on to sales, while retaining a strong link with technology and waste-related issues.

Why did you choose Séché Environnement ?

When the opportunity to join Séché arose, it immediately made sense. The position brought together everything that motivates me on a daily basis: customer relations, the technical dimension, and environmental issues.
I was won over by the corporate culture: a human-scale structure, driven by family values, but with a real development dynamic. An environment where you can invest yourself fully, while respecting an essential life balance.

What does your job involve today?

I'm a sales manager in the Group's Global Offer department. This means that my job is to provide answers to all the waste issues (but also water, sanitation...) of each customer. My customers have only one contact: me. And I follow them from the moment they respond to their calls for tender right through to the end of the contract. We don't sell an isolated service: we build a complete response, adapted to the reality on the ground

I work closely with the operations managers. We form an essential duo: they have the day-to-day vision of the site, while I provide the strategic perspective and the customer link. This way of working enables us to remain responsive and efficient, while retaining a human and personalized approach.

What do you appreciate about your job?

Diversity, without hesitation. Every customer has specific needs, every contract is different. There's never a dull moment.
What I also appreciate is the freedom of organization. I can manage my time, travel to customer sites, create links, all while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
And then there's the cross-functional aspect: I'm in touch with many of the Group's businesses, which enables me to build concrete synergies.

What qualities do you need for this job?

You have to like autonomy, have a good sense of organization, and above all love contact. Customer relations are essential. You have to know how to listen, explain and create a bond of trust.
You also need to have a certain level of technical expertise to understand customer issues and translate them clearly. And you mustn't be afraid to take the initiative, to defend your ideas, all the while maintaining an open dialogue.

What motivates you every day?

Customer satisfaction. When a customer entrusts you with the management of their waste, it's a real mark of trust, because it affects their production, their image. You have to be up to the task.
I also like the satisfaction of opening new accounts, moving the Group forward, finding compromises where necessary. When values are shared between the customer and us, it works.

A word to a candidate interested in your profession?

You have to like working with others, know how to link different professions, and be keen to learn. It's a very rich job, where you touch on many areas of the environment. At Séché, we're lucky to have very competent, available and passionate contacts. It's a demanding job, but deeply human and stimulating.
