[On the spot] Demolition and asbestos removal of the Lucien Coupet industrial site in Issoudun (36)

Armand Debar, deputy operations manager, takes us on a tour of the demolition and asbestos removal worksite at a historic industrial site, the Lucien Coupet plant in Issoudun in the Indre department (36). Taken over in 2018 by Safran, its dilapidated facilities, formerly dedicated to the production of seats for the aeronautical industry, were to be razed. This was a complex project requiring increased vigilance in terms of the safety of employees and local residents.

This 11-hectare site presents a number of technical challenges and requires innovative solutions. It will enable the town of Frontignan la Peyrade to reclaim land for the development of a new district, thus meeting its objective of zero net artificial development.

Visit to the asbestos removal site on the Île aux vaches Natura 2000 site in Tours (37)

Located on the Loire in the heart of the city of Tours, the Île aux vaches is home to all the drinking water wells that supply the city. Contaminated with asbestos following renovation work carried out in 2008, the island, which is classified as a Natura 2000 site and a natural area of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest, had to undergo a particularly complex decontamination operation. Armand Debar and his teams from Séché éco-services did everything possible to filter and evacuate the asbestos cement debris while preserving the silt and sand, preserving the ecosystem and taking all the necessary safety measures for asbestos waste.
