Sharing our expertise across borders
The South African government sees the energy recovery of waste as an opportunity to reduce environmental impacts and increase the country’s energy production capacity. Its experts were tasked with examining best practices across the entire waste-to-energy value chain.
- The Changé site supplies the City of Laval’s heating network with biogas and Solid Waste-to-Energy Combustion (CSR) derived from waste.
- The Alcea plant, meanwhile, produces electricity and heat from waste in the Nantes metropolitan area
These two sites are essential assets for the development of the circular economy and decarbonation in the territories they serve. They were choice stops on this trip organized by Expertise France as part of Franco-South African environmental cooperation.
The Séché Group is present in South Africa through its subsidiaries Interwaste and Spill Tech.
