Protecting our environment over the long term

Renowned specialists in incineration techniques, our clients have been taking advantage of our expertise in managing and treating hazardous waste for more than 30 years now.

Our thermal treatment and energy recovery center boasts:

  • an evaporation-incineration unit for liquid hazardous waste
  • an incineration unit for hazardous industrial waste and potentially infectious medical waste (PIMW) produced by healthcare establishments and professionals

We also transport hazardous waste to authorized treatment channels.

By recovering the heat produced by incinerating the waste, we:

  • generate our own electricity
  • achieve self-sufficiency in thermal energy to treat waste

Furthermore, we constantly and systematically optimize the energy efficiency of our facilities, enabling the facility to earn ISO 50001 certification.

R-PAS heating network: when industry decarbonizes Strasbourg

Since 2021, the R-PAS heating network at the Port of Strasbourg has been recovering waste heat from the Blue Paper site. Thanks to the additional resource supplied by the industrial company Trédi, the network will pass the 150 gigawatt-hour mark in recovered energy by 2024, supplying the equivalent of 30,000 homes, including the Coop district, the Rhéna clinic, the headquarters of the Ports de Strasbourg, Malteries Soufflet and the Port du Rhin school. Strongly encouraged by Ademe, this decarbonized energy is now at the heart of the Eurometropole's decarbonization strategy. On Thursday April 11, two round-table discussions involving experts, industrialists and Strasbourg's elected representatives took stock of the project and its prospects, in front of over a hundred guests.

Making energy greener

As we understand the importance of taking the environment into consideration, we adapt our facilities and production methods. Our two laboratories apply rigorous procedures when accepting and receiving waste, as well as when analyzing discharge. We also generate 2,500 MWh of electricity, earning the facility ISO 50001 certification. We aim to use the heat recovered from burning waste by connecting to the Strasbourg urban heat network.

Developing biodiversity

We have developed the site in such a way that attracts local wildlife. With support from the Haies Vives d’Alsace non-profit and all our staff, we have created two “living hedge” areas, as well as a meadow area, an insect hotel and bird boxes. We are also involved in carrying out bird inventories in partnership with the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux (LPO). Moreover, we delay cutting the vegetation across our green spaces and have created a windrow composting area to recover our green waste.
