A job that is both technical and relational, Marie - Business Manager

Why did you join Séché Environnement?
I spent around ten years working for a waste collector and, during that time, I was in contact with Trédi for the treatment of the hazardous waste we handled. This collaboration enabled me to get to know the Group and its expertise, and to develop a growing interest in the hazardous waste sector. What convinced me? The opportunity to evolve within a fast-growing structure, with a broader, more strategic vision of our business.
Joining Séchéché was a great experience
Joining Séché Environnement meant entering a new dimension, where innovation and sustainable development are daily pillars.
How would you describe your job?
My role involves both maintaining a portfolio of existing customers and identifying new business opportunities. Prospecting is never done at random: our aim is to provide real added value, by offering tailor-made solutions, adapted to the specific challenges of each customer.
This is a demanding, highly technical job, requiring great responsiveness and a constant ability to adapt. You need to know how to decipher environmental and economic issues, while providing local support. Rigor is essential, particularly in the face of dense and constantly evolving regulations.
What motivates you on a daily basis?
The diversity of assignments, the richness of human exchanges and the complexity of the projects to be carried out. I particularly appreciate the technical dimension of my activity, but also the relationship of trust that we build day after day with our customers and partners.
Each project represents a new challenge, an equation to be resolved between customer expectations and operational realities. There's a real dimension of mediation, to build viable solutions that respect both the regulatory framework and environmental imperatives.
This is a real challenge for us
What qualities are essential for success in this field?
Curiosity, above all. Regulations evolve, as do technologies, so you have to be constantly on the lookout. Rigor, perseverance and a solid sense of negotiation are also essential: you need to know how to deal with the unexpected and build balanced compromises. Last but not least, true empathy is a must, as this profession relies above all on listening and fine-tuned understanding of needs.
What advice would you give to a candidate interested in this sector?
The sector is full of exciting opportunities. At Séché Environnement, we benefit from a wide range of professions and recognized expertise in waste treatment and resource recovery. Innovation plays a central role, whether to meet the challenges of PFAS or to develop new treatment processes. There are real prospects for career development, both technically and in terms of mobility, in France and abroad.
