Thermal treatment

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-PERFORMANCE PROCESSES

Thermal treatment is used for organic waste or waste containing organic pollutants.

Thermal treatment is based on oxidizing organic molecules and capturing the mineral compounds contained in waste. Following incineration, fly ash and slag represent less than 20% of the pre-treatment weight of the waste. The technical design of the Group's plants depends on the type of waste to be incinerated at each site.

Is it solid? Liquid? Is it chlorinated? What should the incineration capacity be? All these criteria determine what type of furnace should be used. The calorific value of waste is sufficient to ensure combustion in the furnace. The energy produced is then recovered in the form of steam, which is in turn used to produce electricity.

Increasingly state-of-the-art techniques are being developed for more refined purification of fumes before their controlled release into the atmosphere.

Waste producers (mainly hazardous waste and non-hazardous industrial waste) are from industry, particularly the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and mechanics sectors.
For household waste and contaminated packaging, clients include merchants, craftsmen and local authorities.
