Fumes from waste incineration must first be purified in order to avoid the release of pollutants into the atmosphere.
RPIFHW (Residues from the Purification of Incineration Fumes from Household Waste) and RPIFIW (Residues from the Purification of Incineration Fumes from Industrial Waste) are produced by neutralizing, cleaning and removing dust from fumes. Séché Environnement has developed techniques to treat this hazardous waste by stabilizing it before it is transported to the Group's specially designed Class I landfill site at its Changé facility (53).
The physical-chemical reaction produced during stabilization traps the pollutants contained in the waste, thus avoiding any risk of release into the environment.
